The session, originally initiated by Julia Muchowski (Swedish Polar Research Secretariat), will explore how Polar Connect can support continuous, real-time environmental and scientific data collection from the Arctic Ocean.
The programme includes:
โ an introduction to Polar Connect and its broader context
โ sensing technologies and future possibilities
โ data management and security for sensing data from submarine fibre cables

A central part of the workshop will be moderated group discussions focusing on:
โ opportunities for Indigenous and local Arctic communities, including policy and legal aspects
